Formed in 1992 among a group of Young Turks, that were dissatisfied with the misrepresentation and lack of equal coverage of Turkiye during the 92' Olympics, Young Turks first organized a protest against NBC Studios and Bob Costas.

This lead to men and women, with equal values and ideals, that were fed up with Anti-Turkish groups, mainly Greek and Armenian groups that openly falsely demonized "anything and everything Turkish". Stemming from food, music, history, and to widespread media. This group soon attracted many that felt the need to express their frustation with the inactivity of local Turks and demonizers with a wider agenda that were not often confronted.

For example, Greeks and Armenians regularly attacked women, children and elders with stones and spits when they were walking in remote areas during the annual Turkish American Day Parades. Young Turks organized a few willing to confront the Greeks at their Parades. Though completely outnumbered, the end result of the dissatisfaction of Turks attending Greek Parades, resulted to the total elimination of racist Greek groups attending the Turkish Parade. Violence was eliminated through a show of solidarity between Turks.

During the epic violence of the terrorist PKK, YT protested against EU nations that had an open door policy of not prosecuting and often helping terrorist groups. Italy, which refused to let the leader of the PKK, responsible for 37,000 deaths, be extradited to Turkiye for prosecution, YT helped form a 500 people protest in front of the Italian Mission.

As time progressed, YT progressed to different undertakings. They became more politically vocal about Turkish issues with their legislators, often writing letters and meeting with them in person, expressing Turkish American opinion. In NJ, YT were able to get 4 proclamations to celebrate Turkish American relations. They also helped organize many internet campaigns to counter Greek/Armenian hatemongering activities as well as media publications(National Geographic-Armenia), TV shows(Saturday Night Live's Greek host, stereo-typing Turks), and propaganda lectures that wrongly mislead historical events.
